Maintenance Electrician - Manufacturing Equipment
(Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and support equipment in a manufacturing environment.) Location: Alsip, IL Shift: Day Shift (5:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Pay: $28+/hr DOE
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support our manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the electrical components of bag machinery and support equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, with hands-on experience working in industrial settings to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in maintenance roles within a production or manufacturing environment. High School Diploma or GED (Technical Degree or Electrical Certification preferred). strong electrical knowledge, including 480V 3-phase systems and machine controls. Familiarity with PLCs and VFD drives (troubleshooting experience a plus). Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement practices. Knowledge of OSHA, GMP, and industrial safety standards. Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues. Welding, pipefitting, and equipment installation experience is a plus. Forklift operation experience required.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs on production machinery, including bag-making equipment and related support systems.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, control panels, and equipment per electrical codes and safety regulations.
Follow all safety procedures, including Lock Out / Tag Out and Confined Space protocols, to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency electrical repairs to reduce equipment downtime.
Report unresolved electrical or control system issues to the Maintenance Manager for further evaluation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all safety and housekeeping standards.
Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and production staff to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
Perform electrical troubleshooting of motors, relays, sensors, PLCs, control circuits, and power distribution systems.
Support ongoing process improvements by identifying and implementing electrical upgrades to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment when necessary to support maintenance tasks.
